Chirality Induced Crystal Structural Difference in Metal Halide Composites

نویسندگان

چکیده

Incorporating chiral organic compounds into metal halide frames is a common and useful method to introduce chirality in composites. The structures of resulting racemic composites are usually considered be nearly identical owing similar chemical bonding. In this work, by incorporating MBABr (bromide methylbenzylamine) an inorganic frame, significant crystallization difference between the observed, as confirmed both structural spectroscopic measurements. addition, transformation can also induced moisture, ascribed asymmetric hydrogen bonding materials. These results provide new insights for future synthesis materials open up possibilities advance functionalities.

Continuous pressure-induced structural transition in the noble-metal halide melts.

The reduction of the charge of the species in molten salts, including the complete removal of the Coulomb interaction, appears to have the same eFect as an increase in the pressure on these systems. This observation leads to the prediction that a continuous pressure-induced structural change is to be found in the noble-metal halide melts at much lower pressures than those used to induce a simil...

Metal halide perovskite light emitters.

Twenty years after layer-type metal halide perovskites were successfully developed, 3D metal halide perovskites (shortly, perovskites) were recently rediscovered and are attracting multidisciplinary interest from physicists, chemists, and material engineers. Perovskites have a crystal structure composed of five atoms per unit cell (ABX3) with cation A positioned at a corner, metal cation B at t...

Structural Index of Metal Matrix Composites Evaluated with Computed Tomography

X-ray computed tomography (CT) techniques have been used to evaluate a structural index of high performance metal matrix composites (MMC). Beside of classical features like the determination of number of fibres and eccentricity of fibre bundles an order parameter can be defined and demonstrated for the SiC fibre arrangement in Ti-MMC, which can be used to assess these materials. The samples for...

Understanding adsorption-induced structural transitions in metal-organic frameworks: from the unit cell to the crystal.

Breathing transitions represent recently discovered adsorption-induced structural transformations between large-pore and narrow-pore conformations in bi-stable metal-organic frameworks such as MIL-53. We present a multiscale physical mechanism of the dynamics of breathing transitions. We show that due to interplay between host framework elasticity and guest molecule adsorption, these transforma...

Continuous chirality measures in transition metal chemistry.

The definition of the continuous chirality measure(CCM) is provided and its applications are summarized in this tutorial review, with special emphasis on the field of transition metal complexes. The CCM approach, developed in recent years, provides a quantitative parameter that evaluates the degree of chirality of a given molecule. Many quantitative structural correlations with chirality have b...
